Introduction: This assignment involves a combination of research on the subject of leisure and introspection on your personal definition of leisure. You are to research the ways in which leisure is defined in the literature and analyze these definitions in relation to your personal definition of leisure. This research and analysis will serve as a basis for additional learning throughout the semester.
Qualitative View:(Classical/Traditional View) Leisure as a highly desired state of mind/being possessing the following constructs:-Perceived Freedom-Intrinsic Motivation
Quantitative View: Centers around the concept of leisure as free or unobligated time.
Holistic View: An integrating view the fuses all aspects of our lives together; leisure, work and personal obligations are so closely inter-related that the two cannot be separated.
Instructions: Complete a paper containing all of the following:
Construct an appropriate title for your paper.
Complete a strong introductory paragraph with a clear thesis.
Discuss the definitions of leisure you found in your research, referencing at least three outside sources. This means you must use at least three different outside documents (books, articles, etc)
Discuss your personal leisure definition of leisure.
Do you agree with the definitions you found in your research? Why or why not?
How does your definition compare with the definitions you found in your research?
Include a well-constructed conclusion to summarize your research efforts.
Use correct citations to reflect proper recognition of the authors quotations and paraphrased ideas from your research.
Include a works cited page in APA format.
