In this final week, you will apply your learning from the course into a paper where you describe the importance of continuing education and how you might train others in helping others with substance abuse and addictive disorders. In your paper, you should include two parts (all in the same document):

Part I

    Describe the importance of continuing education with support from the research.
        Your plan for keeping up-to-date on the research and findings related to substance abuse and addictive disorders, and
        Where you might seek out training and continuing education in the futurebe specific and include examples and links of programs and training you find.

Part II

    Describe the things you have learned in this class that you would want other professionals to know that plan to work with substance abuse and addictive disorders in group treatment.

        Describe what you learned about settings and various approaches to group treatment for this population.

    Explain the stages of the change model and how to assess readiness for group treatment based on this model,
    Explain the importance of being culturally sensitive and working to eliminate barriers to care, and
    Describe the importance of relapse prevention.

Length: Part 1: 2-3 pages; Part 2: 8-9 pages, not including title or reference pages
