It’s an opportunity to explore other perspectives and concerns on the same subject matter. Take the time to understand the central controversy from a perspective other than your own. Writing from a point of view different than your own is a great way to figure out your own interest in the topic and better determine your position on the issue while simultaneously preparing you for the inevitable rebuttal and counter-arguments.
Also, this is a good time for discovering any possible discrepancies and inconsistencies in your own argument so that you may correct them and hopefully, produce a tighter essay.
The body of the paper should support your claim with compelling, demonstrable evidence, specific examples and valid premises. Each paragraph of the body should follow and explore one clear topic at a time, one that supports why your point of view is reasonable and sound. The paragraph should introduce a topic sentence announcing the overall point of that particular paragraph.
