Response papers should be more than one but less than two pages with 1″ margins, Arial font 12, double spaced with your name in the upper right corner.  Pick an article either, Options are “Engaging the Trans Debate on Gender Variance” or “Intersectionality and the Study of Black Sexual Minority Women”  Summarize that article.  Include the main points and supporting arguments.  This should take about 3/4 of a page.  Even if the author uses technical language, write the summary so that it is easy to understand.  It is IMPERATIVE that this summary is accurate in order to gain an acceptable grade for the paper!  Then turn to your response.  This part should show that you can integrate the concepts and work with them. It can be describing your reaction about something that you felt particularly strong about and why? OR Identifying if you agree? disagree and on which points-put your evidence and reasoning here?  OR  Indicating how the article applies to current events, in what way and why. Articulate and defend clearly. This is expected to be a thoughtful and detailed response indicating that you have thought through the issues broached in the article.  Grammar, spelling, form, clarity, etc. will be graded.  You will need to proof and edit your submissions multiple times in order to fulfill the expectations while keeping it below the 2 page limit.  The 2 page limit is to make you choose every word and learn to write concisely but still thoroughly
