In the news media (newspaper, news magazine, or internet news source) or popular culture (documentaries) locate an article or documentary of interest related to life science, chemistry, water, evolution, cells, cell division, cancer, DNA, genetics, protein synthesis, viruses, genetic regulation, cloning, stem cells, genetic engineering, DNA profiling, GMOs, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, climate change, or food scarcity.

Read the article or watch the documentary and write a two paragraph summary of the article/documentary.

Before beginning the first paragraph at the top of the paper, include a weblink or scanned image of the article. Also, identify which of the life science topics the article/documentary addresses (life science, chemistry, water, evolution, cells, cell division, cancer, DNA, genetics, protein synthesis, viruses, genetic regulation, cloning, stem cells, genetic engineering, DNA profiling, GMOs, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, climate change, or food scarcity). Also, don’t forget to put your name of the paper.

In the first paragraph, provide a summary or overview of the article/documentary. What were the main points or arguments?

In the second paragraph (application), explain how the article relates to a specific topic we have covered in class. Be specific about the connection to class content demonstrating your ability to understand and communicate the science within the article/documentary as it relates to biological principles taught in class. Explain what you learned from the article/documentary. If possible, briefly explain how the article/documentary relates to you on a personal level.
