Biology News Summary

Your summary should be approximately one full, single-spaced page in length. A paper copy must be turned in on the day that you are scheduled to present. It should include thefollowing components:

 

  1. A summary paragraph of the article in your own words. (6 points)
  2. A “who cares” paragraph that addresses the impact of the news article to people in your community, state, and throughout the world. (6 points)
  3. The original source of the news/research results, the date the article appeared, and the url address of the web site for the article (3 points)

 

You will be evaluated on the accuracy and quality of your written summary as well as

your response to the “who cares” statement. You will also be evaluated on your ability to

engage the class in a discussion about your article.
